Coach Jade

Coach Jade is the team’s coach and the only non-playable character on the roster. She appears in cutscenes and mission bookends, never on the competition floor.

Story

Snapshot

Jade Whitmore is the Skylarks’ head coach and a former gymnastics star. In Lilly’s words, she is “THE Jade Whitmore, the gymnast every kid wanted to be.” She’s warm on the surface (“That leotard really suits you”) but exacting underneath, and she misses nothing: “I don’t miss talent, and I didn’t miss you. I watched every second.”

Past

She was a famous competitive gymnast before coaching, iconic enough to be a poster hero for Lilly’s generation.

Arc

Jade’s through-line is steady rather than transformational. She scouts Lilly in Chapter 2, runs the Skylarks tryouts in Chapter 3, and names Lilly captain for her leadership. Across Chapters 4 and 5 she is the team’s mentor: she praises Jasmine’s clean beam work, watches Lilly grow, and finally steps into the Brielle conflict with the line that reframes the whole Chapter 5 arc: “she acts from insecurity… deep down, she admires you.”

Relationships

• Lilly: Protégée and chosen captain; the coach-athlete relationship anchors the game.
• Jasmine: Publicly praises her early work (“That was clean, Jasmine. Strong work”), giving Jasmine her first real confidence boost.
• Brielle: The problem player Jade has to manage directly; she’s the one authority figure Brielle respects.

Wardrobe

Coach Jade wears a fixed 3-piece outfit: a coat, pants, and an accessory. She does not swap leotards like the gymnasts, and her pieces cannot be equipped by the playable characters.

Role in gameplay

Coach Jade drives the tutorial and appears in pre- and post-mission dialogue for competition and training runs. She performs no moves: she has no Floor, Beam, Bars, or Vault pool.
