How battles work
Palmon: Survival is built around three pillars, in the game’s own framing: Explore and Survive, Capture and Fight, and Build Your Homestead. You explore the land of Pallantis, capture Palmon in the wild, fight with them, and put them to work back at your base running farms, factories, and power generation. A Palmon is never just a combat unit, it also doubles as labor once it is home.
What a battle looks like
When a fight starts, the client runs a scripted formation-camera sequence: your Palmon and the opponent’s line up and the camera moves through a fixed introduction shot before control hands back to you. Skill casts during the fight play their own choreographed timeline of visual effects, camera movement, and audio, timed to the animation rather than to any underlying stat. None of that timeline carries damage or stat values; it is presentation, not a data layer you can read numbers out of.
No combat stats (health, attack, defense, or any per-Palmon number) exist for any creature or troop, so this page describes what happens in a fight, not what wins one.
Combat Effects: Buffs and Debuffs
Skills during battle apply buffs (beneficial effects) and debuffs (harmful effects) to creatures. These effects modify combat outcomes and drive tactical decision-making.
Common Combat Effects
| Effect | Icon | Description |
|---|---|---|
| ATK Boost | Increases damage output | |
| DEF Boost | Increases damage reduction | |
| SPD Boost | Increases action speed | |
| Healing | Restores HP | |
| Poison | Damage over time (debuff) | |
| Paralysis | Reduces action speed (debuff) | |
| Sleep | Prevents actions (debuff) |
Strategy: Support creatures that can apply buffs (ATK, DEF) multiply your damage output. Creatures that apply debuffs (poison, paralysis) control enemy actions. Healing support keeps high-damage creatures alive to deal more damage.
Community take
The following is drawn from official store listings and trailers, not verified game data. It is included because it describes the game accurately without requiring any number this wiki cannot verify.
The capture tool is commonly called the Palcatcher in beginner guides: you fight a wild Palmon down before switching to a timed capture window rather than continuing to defeat it outright. See Capturing and elements for more on that loop.
