Progression Roadmap

Palmon: Survival gates progression in clear level brackets. Each milestone unlocks new content, mechanics, and team-building options. This guide maps what to expect and what to prioritize at every stage.

Level 1–5: Starter Zone

Your goal: Build a 6-creature roster with element balance.

Content available:

  • Starter zone battles (vs. wild creatures and easy squads)
  • First 5 capture zones
  • Basic team building
  • No jobs yet

Mechanics unlocked:

  • Capturing (the core loop)
  • Element system (Water, Fire, Earth, Electric)
  • Basic team composition
  • First evolution materials begin dropping

Recommended team:

  • 6 creatures total
  • One of each element (Water, Fire, Earth, Electric), plus 2 flexible slots
  • Mixed roles: 2 Attackers, 1 Defender, 2–3 Support/hybrid
  • Any rarity works; focus on element and role coverage

What to farm:

  • Capture tools (prioritize—you’ll need 20+ to build your roster)
  • Coins (for creature upgrades and healing)
  • Evolution materials (start small stash for your first evolution at level 5–6)

Milestone creatures: Catch your free starter, then prioritize capturing one of each element type before level 5. Common creatures from the starter zone are perfect—don’t chase rarity yet.

Pace: ~4–6 hours of casual play. First evolution happens around level 5–6.

Level 5–15: Early Game

Your goal: Evolve 2–3 key creatures, establish a farming route, begin specialization.

Content available:

  • Early zone progression (zones 2–4 unlock)
  • First evolution materials farms (dungeons open around level 8)
  • Trainer battles (NPCs with fixed teams)
  • Item crafting basics

Mechanics unlocked at level 8–10:

  • Jobs unlock (assign creatures to earn passive income—critical for resource flow)
  • Capture tools become abundant through rewards and jobs
  • Evolution materials drop more consistently
  • Team swaps become viable (now you can rotate creatures by role)

Recommended team:

  • Evolve 2–3 of your best creatures (prioritize those you enjoy and will use long-term)
  • Evolve stat boost (~50% increase) carries you much further than leveling new creatures
  • Keep 1–2 unevolved creatures for exploring and grinding
  • Team should have: 1 Tank, 2–3 Attackers, 2–3 Support (adjust roles per dungeon)

What to farm:

  • Evolution materials (farm early dungeons 3–5 times per session)
  • Coins (assign 2–3 creatures to jobs for passive income)
  • Capture tools (for continued creature hunting—aim to catch 1–2 new creatures every 2 levels)
  • Experience (farm starter zone battles to level up your team)

Mechanics to master:

  • Element advantage (you now face varied opponents; rotation matters)
  • Job assignment (assign creatures with low combat roles to jobs)
  • Capture tool conservation (dungeon drops are limited; use them only on creatures that fill roster gaps)

Milestone creatures: Catch 2–3 A-tier creatures from zones 2–4 if you see them. Your evolved starter + 1–2 evolved captures carry you through level 15.

Pace: 10–15 hours. First jobs active by level 8. Second evolutions possible by level 15.

Level 15–30: Mid Game

Your goal: Full evolved team, job economy running, begin dungeon specialization.

Content available:

  • Full zone progression (zones 5–10 unlock gradually)
  • Mid-tier dungeons (levels 15–25, specialized mechanics)
  • Guild unlocks (around level 20)
  • Arena opens (around level 18–20, PvP ranking)
  • Breeding unlocks (Nursery building becomes available)

Mechanics unlocked:

  • Guilds unlock at level ~20 (cooperative teams, buffs, tech trees for passive bonuses)
  • Arena unlocks (PvP ranking, prestige currency, seasonal rewards)
  • Breeding (trait inheritance becomes available; long-term power scaling)
  • Job specialization (assign 3–4 creatures to jobs, rotate 1–2 for combat)

Recommended team:

  • 6-creature evolved combat squad (all creatures level 20+, 2–3 evolved twice)
  • 2–4 creatures assigned to jobs (should not be in active combat rotation)
  • Begin catching S-tier creatures when available (these carry you to level 30+)
  • Specialized mini-teams for specific dungeons (e.g., Water team for Fire dungeon)

What to farm:

  • Evolution materials (farm mid-tier dungeons to prep for level 25–30 evolutions)
  • Coins (jobs generate 50–75% of income; supplement with battle farming)
  • Guild tech trees (invest in early guild techs for passive team bonuses)
  • Creatures (aim to catch 3–5 S-tier creatures between levels 15–30)
  • Breeding materials (rare trait materials drop from mid-tier dungeons)

Mechanics to master:

  • Dungeon specialization (customize team for each dungeon’s gimmicks—boss resistances, ally summons, traps)
  • Guild buffs (coordinate with guildmates for stacking bonuses on stats/resource farming)
  • Job economy math (calculate which creatures on jobs generate most coins relative to your combat needs)
  • Breeding prep (begin planning trait inheritance chains for level 25+ creatures)

Milestone creatures: Catch and evolve 2–3 S-tier creatures. Your level 15 team carries you to level 25, then upgrade 2–3 creatures to push through level 30.

Pace: 30–50 hours. Guild and Arena active by level 20. First breed attempts possible by level 22–25.

Level 30+: Late Game & Endgame

Your goal: Optimize your team through breeding, maximize job economy, prepare for endgame challenges.

Content available:

  • Endgame dungeons (levels 30–40+, high difficulty, specialized rewards)
  • Guild wars (cooperative endgame PvP)
  • Legendary encounters (rare, high-tier creatures)
  • Seasonal events (limited-time dungeons, exclusive creatures, currency boosts)
  • PvP arena seasons (ranked competitive play)

Mechanics fully unlocked:

  • All job types available (you run 3–4 jobs simultaneously)
  • Breeding chains mature (first generation bred creatures reach peak stats)
  • Guild tech trees scale (passive bonuses compound across your team)
  • Prestige farming (arena prestige currency unlocks exclusive creatures and items)

Recommended team:

  • 6-creature fully evolved combat squad (all creatures double+ evolved, level 35+)
  • 4–6 creatures on jobs (maximize passive income—this is your primary resource flow)
  • Specialized teams for each endgame dungeon (4–5 different compositions)
  • 2–3 alternate creatures for PvP counter-picks

What to farm:

  • Evolution materials (farm endgame dungeons for late-game evolutions at levels 35+)
  • Coins (jobs now generate 70–80% of your income)
  • Breeding materials (trait inheritance is your primary power scaling)
  • Prestige (arena farming for exclusive creatures and seasonal battle pass)
  • Guild contribution (participate in guild wars for cooperative rewards)

Mechanics to master:

  • Trait optimization (breed 3–4 generations to concentrate ideal trait combinations)
  • Counter-team building (build 2–3 alternate teams for PvP meta matchups—see Type Advantages for strategy)
  • Dungeon gimmick exploitation (learn to abuse boss mechanics for faster clear times)
  • Guild war coordination (assign roles to guildmates for cooperative dominance)
  • Farming efficiency (optimize stamina spend per resource—see Resource Flow for which dungeons to prioritize)

Milestone creatures: By level 30, you own 3–5 fully evolved S-tier creatures. Catch Legendary tier creatures at level 35+. Begin breeding specific trait combinations to create specialized threats.

Pace: 60+ hours (endgame is ongoing). Progression slows significantly—each level takes 2–3x more experience, but your team is mature and farming is passive.

Progression Checklist

Use this checklist to verify you’re on track:

  • Jobs unlocked and 1–2 creatures assigned
  • Clear a mid-tier dungeon 3–5 times without items

Level 15–30:

  • Guild joined
  • Arena unlocked and at least 5 matches completed
  • 2–3 S-tier creatures caught
  • Nursery building constructed and first breed attempt
  • Clear endgame dungeon zone (level 25+) solo

Level 30+:

  • 6-creature evolved squad (most double-evolved)
  • 3–4 creatures on jobs generating passive income
  • Prestige currency farmed (1000+)
  • Guild war participated in (at least once)
  • Breeding chain active (F2 generation creatures in development)

Pacing Tips

Natural progression speed:

  • Early game (1–15): 4–6 hours of casual play per week reaches level 15
  • Mid game (15–30): 8–15 hours per week keeps pace
  • Late game (30+): 10–20 hours per week to stay competitive; passive job income bridges gaps

F2P viability: All content is beatable without premium currency. Job economy fully supports evolution material and coin spending. Plan your resource spending 3–5 levels ahead to avoid bottlenecks. See Resource flow and priorities for spending strategies that work without paying.

If you hit a difficulty wall:

  1. Farm evolution materials (your creatures need stat scaling)
  2. Build element-balanced team for your current zone
  3. Assign more creatures to jobs to increase coin income
  4. Check your job assignments—are weak creatures on combat and strong creatures on jobs?
  5. Catch 1–2 new creatures to fill roster gaps or replace underperforming types
