Team Roles and Archetypes
Every creature fills a role in battle. Understanding roles helps you build balanced teams and counter specific enemy formations.
The Four Core Roles
Attackers (Damage Dealers) High offensive output, lower durability. Designed to deal damage fast and finish enemies before they threaten your team. Examples: Graffitty, Blazeal, Ninjump.
- Best position: Midline (safe enough to survive, close enough to deal damage)
- Job well: Combat-focused, not good at resource gathering
Defenders (Tanks) High durability, lower offense. Soak up damage and buy time for attackers to deal damage. Examples: Terrastudo, Mantleray, Vulcany (evolved).
- Best position: Frontline (takes the first hits)
- Job well: Mining, logging (slow and steady work)
Support (Healer/Control) Heal allies, buff stats, or control enemies through crowd control. Examples: Squeezel, Flower creatures, Mystique.
- Best position: Backline (protected from direct attack, can support everyone)
- Job well: Varies; some are balanced fighters
Balanced (Hybrid) Mix offense and defense. Jack of all trades, master of none. Examples: Platyputz, Ninjump pre-evolution, most early-game creatures.
- Best position: Midline (can both deal and tank moderate damage)
- Job well: Flexible, can fill any role temporarily
Building a Balanced Team
A complete 6-creature team should have:
- 2 Attackers — Your primary damage source
- 1 Defender — Your frontline anchor
- 2 Support — One healer, one control/buffer
- 1 Flex — Attacker, balanced, or support depending on what you need
This is flexible. A 3-attack, 2-support, 1-tank team works. A 1-attack, 2-tank, 2-support team works (slower but safer). What matters is that you have all three archetypes present.
Role Synergies
Defender + Attacker — Tank soaks hits while attacker deals damage. Classic combination.
Support + Attacker — Healer keeps attacker alive so it can stay in combat longer. Good for marathon battles.
Attacker + Attacker — Two fast damage dealers can overwhelm enemies quickly. Risky if enemy has a tank.
Full Support — Healer + Control + Balance. Slow wins, very safe. Best for boss encounters.
Element Coverage
A strong team covers all four element types. No single element is strongest—coverage matters more than specialization.
| Matchup | Advantage | Icon |
|---|---|---|
| Water beats Fire | Water neutralizes Fire attacks | |
| Fire beats Earth | Fire burns through Earth defenses | |
| Earth beats Electric | Earth grounds Electric | |
| Electric beats Water | Electric shocks Water |
Strategy: Aim to include at least one creature of each element type on your main team. This ensures you always have advantage against any enemy setup.
Examples
Beginner (Safe) Team Terrastudo (tank) + Platyputz (balance) + Blazeal (attacker) + Squeezel (healer) + Mystique (control) + Water attacker. Slow but reliable.
Aggressive (Fast) Team Ninjump (attacker) + Graffitty (attacker) + Blazeal (attacker) + Squeezel (healer) + Platyputz (balance) + one more attacker. Fast but risky if you face a tank.
Balanced Team Ninjump (attacker) + Blazeal (attacker) + Terrastudo (tank) + Squeezel (healer) + Mystique (control) + one wildcard. All-rounder for varied content.
