Game Systems & Features
Palmon: Survival includes several progression and monetization systems beyond the core capture loop. This section covers Battle Passes, in-app purchases, events, and other game modes.
Battle Pass System
A seasonal progression system that grants rewards as you play. Typically runs for 30-50 days per season.
Structure:
- Free track: Basic rewards available to all players
- Premium track: Enhanced rewards for pass buyers
- Tiers: Progress through levels by earning Battle Pass XP
- Milestones: Rewards at each tier (resources, creatures, cosmetics)
How to earn XP:
- Daily quests (smallest amount)
- Weekly quests (medium amount)
- Event challenges (large amount)
- Simply playing battles (passive accumulation)
Value: Premium pass usually costs 2-5 USD and provides 30-50 USD worth of resources if you complete it.
In-App Purchases (IAP)
Direct purchases with real money. Typically sold in bundles.
Common IAP categories:
- Currency packs: Palite (premium currency) in various amounts
- Starter packs: Early-game bundles with creatures, currency, items (often discounted first purchase)
- Feature pass: Temporary perks (exp boost, capture rate up, energy regeneration)
- Event bundles: Limited-time offers for special events
- Season pass: See Battle Pass section above
Pricing: Ranges from $0.99 (small currency) to $99.99 (mega bundle)
F2P perspective: Optional. Game is playable without spending, but purchases speed progression.
Event Systems
Temporary gameplay modes and storylines that run for 7-30 days.
Event types:
- Story events: Campaign chapters with battles and story dialogue
- Raid events: Multi-phase boss fights requiring cooperation or strategy
- Farming events: Themed battles dropping specific resources or rare creatures
- PvP events: Ranked seasonal competitions
- Crossover events: Collaborations with other games or IPs
Rewards: Exclusive creatures, cosmetics, premium currency, resources
Frequency: New event every 1-2 weeks, overlapping events common
Monetization Model
Palmon: Survival uses a free-to-play with cosmetics + battle pass + optional IAP model.
Revenue sources:
- Battle Pass sales (seasonal)
- In-app purchases (currency, packs, features)
- Cosmetics and cosmetic packs (skins, animations)
- Starter packages (first purchase discount)
Business approach: Cosmetics are the focus; stat progression is F2P-friendly (not pay-to-win in strict sense, but pay-to-progress-faster exists)
Progression Pacing
Early game (Levels 1-10): 1-2 weeks of play
- Steep learning curve
- Frequent progression
- Many free rewards to get started
Mid game (Levels 10-25): 2-4 weeks of play
- Progression slows
- Natural energy gates start mattering
- Events become meaningful for resource farming
Late game (Levels 25+): 4+ weeks per 5 levels
- Energy is primary bottleneck
- Battle Pass becomes valuable
- Events are endgame content
Typical session: 20-60 minutes per day (respects busy schedules)
Monetization vs F2P Balance
Free players can:
- Complete main story/campaign
- Compete in PvE content
- Build viable teams without spending
- Progress at normal speed with discipline
Paying players get:
- Faster resource accumulation
- Access to cosmetics
- Battle Pass exclusive rewards
- Convenience (skip timers, energy refreshes)
Not pay-to-win elements:
- No exclusive creatures for sale
- No stat-locked behind paywall
- No paid-only game modes
- Cosmetics don’t grant advantage
